This set is made up of a Star Spot filter, a Star Graduated filter and
a Star Segment filter. Using these filters it is possible to create star
effects on highlights in various parts of the frame. The Star Spot has a
circular cluster of markings while the Star Segment will place highlights
in a particular area of the shot depending on how it is positioned. Star
Graduates make highlights at one end of the filter, reducing to clear
resin at the other. Careful inspection of the filters will allow you to
determine where the star effect should be expected to be seen.
Consideration of final aperture is important when deciding where to place
this filter. Consequently, a depth of field preview facility is a great
help.
