Artist inspires background colorways
Lastolite Limited, the British company now supplying many world markets
with hand-painted canvas and fabric backdrops for studio photography,
introduced a complete new range of 'Impressionist' colors and patterns at
photokina 94 in Cologne.
The fabric background is flexible enough to be rolled or crumpled, but
can also be used ironed flat. It is two-sided, the reverse giving
different color density and saturation. The designers drew their colors
from paintings by Monet, and the backgrounds are named after these. The
pattern is random and each backdrop is different. Our scanned samples are
from pieces roughly A4 in size.
Monet backgrounds are supplied in several sizes:
- 5' x 6' 'showercap' design
- 10 x 12' curtain
- 10 x 24' curtain to allow standing area on studio floor
- 8 x 8' collapsible with 7ft 'train' to do the same for portable and
location use
The colorways are:
Ice Floes - pale greys
Thames - creams
Poplars - greens
Peonies - browns and reds
Giverny - mauves, greens, reds
Seine - mid to dark blues
Lily Pond - dark blues, black, greys
Kolsaas - dark and mid greys
Rouen - light and mid blues
