This scan is at the maximum resolution of 2,700 dpi, from the full height of an Agfachrome RS200 slide. Grain sharpness can be seen at the top, but some focus is lost at the bottom, indicating very slight lack of parallelism in the moving slide carriage. The colour, despite the cast, was rendered very accurately using the Agfachrome set-up. San Giorgio, Venice. Minolta 9xi, 75-300mm Zoom.
A standard Ektachrome 100 slide is given boosted colour saturation and rather warm white, combined with high contrast, by the Ektachrome setting. See colour chart tests in previous page.
In comparison, the colour negative (non-specific) setting yields a natural result without any exaggeration. Scans from negatives are generally more natural.
