Production Contax AX test.
It wasn't easy to get two sequences with roughly the same rate of approach
or distance - or even the same dog! These pairs are, however, broadly
comparable, the Contax pictures being taken at closer range of a smaller
dog moving less rapidly, but changing scale at much the same pace.
This pair, taken with the Minolta Dynax 9xi, show clearly how the
predictive focus is not quite capable of keeping pace with the subject's
movement directly towards the camera. If this was a car, it would be
moving VERY fast to change scale as rapidly - don't assume this is an easy
subject. The sectional enlargements are at exactly 8X magnification and
equal the sharpness you would see in an 8 x 12" print, a reasonable
size.
