Duncan McEwan's Scotland
Duncan I McEwan is one of Britain's most successful freelance amateur
photographers. His photographs can be seen almost every week in the pages
of Amateur Photographer and many other national magazines, and although
Duncan remains a school teacher by profession, his work is amongst the
best-selling catalog material for major photo library Images.
Duncan works exclusively with 35mm Minolta equipment, exploiting the
clarity and brilliant colors of Scottish West Coast and Highland light
with the aid of ultrawide, macro and apo-tele lenses, often with
polarizers and normally with Fujichrome Velvia film.
Another side of Duncan's photographic work is his macro photography, to
which he brings an expert knowledge of biology, natural history and the
environment. He lectures widely and travels frequently from his home base
in Bridge of Weir, near Glasgow.
